Bringing a Taste of Home Closer to You

Kim’s Grocer is a family-owned home-based Asian grocery, proudly established in June 2025 in the Ashburton area of New Zealand.

Our journey began when we moved into our new home and discovered a small sleepout on the property. We saw an opportunity to turn the space into something meaningful a little grocery store where people could find the Filipino and Asian products they love and miss from home.

What started as a simple idea quickly became something we never imagined it would be. With a small selection of products and a few shelves, Kim’s Grocer has steadily grown into a much-loved local grocery, offering a wide range of Filipino and Asian food products, snacks, pantry essentials and more.

Our Journey

Building Kim’s Grocer has been a journey of learning, hard work and growth. From setting up our first shelves and choosing products to listening to our customers and continually expanding our range, every part of the business has been built with care.

Our family plays an important role in the business, helping behind the scenes and supporting the day-to-day running of our store. What makes Kim’s Grocer special to us is that it has grown alongside our family and our community.
